Helen worked for many years as a Property Surveyor/Project Manager and practiced Pilates in her spare time for 12 years.
She loves the way Pilates makes her feel – stronger, longer and empowered. After using Pilates to improve a chronic Asthma condition she decided to dedicate more time to the methodology. She trained with the YMCA, gaining a Level 3 Pilates Matwork qualification.
Helen has found her Pilates journey immensely interesting and rewarding. She takes pleasure in helping a client understand and transform their body whether to rehabilitate or to improve sporting prowess. She still can’t believe how amazing the human body is, and relishes the infinite Pilates related learning experience.
After years of suffering with back pain Susan turned to Pilates as a last resort in 2010. “I started attending weekly studio classes in London and finally found a way to reduce the pain, build strength and mobility. During this time I started to research the Pilates exercises, and this led to my interest in teaching”.
“In 2016 I started my training with Allison Swan and qualified as a YMCA L3 Pilates Matwork Instructor. The course has opened up my interest in using Pilates and other movement concepts for rehabilitation and general exercise. I like the fact that Pilates is adaptable and accessible to all. I also enjoy discovering new ways to keep not only myself, but also those I teach motivated very rewarding. Learning does not stop once qualified and this makes it an exciting career”.
